3 F FLAMENCO FASHION FUSION ART by Manuel Fernández.
Art, fashion, culture and tradition together with the latest digital technologies come together in this exclusive exhibition created by Manuel Fernández.
The goal of Batacoleando is to underscore the power of fashion and art as tools for interculturality and cooperation.
Manuel Fernández has taken the “bata de cola”, the traditional ruffled skirt or dress -one of the most recognizable symbols of flamenco and of Andalusia- as a leitmotif and has created 60 three-dimensional canvas dresses, representing traditional dresses from around the world. Ruffles have been integrated into the designs. Djellabas, ponchos, ruanas and kikapus coexist with the flamenco dress, and artists from North America, Oceania, Asia, Europe, South America and Africa have been invited to work on these pieces, creating a new hybrid language combining art and fashion.

CECILIA GÓMEZ AVATAR
An avatar of the great dancer Cecilia Gómez brings the costumes to life thanks to motion capture. A motion recording technique that transforms her art and choreography, with original music by Oswaldo Montes, into digitalized models with 3D animation. His face was photographed with photogrammetry.
AUGMENTED REALITY AND 3D COSTUMES
Thanks to augmented reality, an application has been created that allows users, by scanning a QR code, to become models of the exhibition. Through cameras and sensors that recognize and track the user’s physical environment, the user will be able to superimpose Fashion Art’s creations on themselves.
SUIT WITH FLEXIBLE SCREENS
In the suit intervened by the plastic artist Fernando Verdugo, designer Manuel Fernández has included a series of flexible screens based on OLED technology. Through the images projected on these screens we find ourselves in front of a suit in constant evolution.
